Meet Our Doctor

I truly feel that being an orthodontist is the best job in the world. I find enjoyment in creating a smile for patients that will allow them to smile with confidence and love their new smile. The journey to a beautiful smile allows me to form a relationship in which I get to know my patients deeply. Being an orthodontist also gives me the opportunity to make a difference in our community. It’s a great feeling when I see patients outside of the office and they are happily smiling.

Family and Community
I grew up as a child of a military parent, which meant we lived in several different states. In total, I went to 11 schools between grades K-12. My wife is a native of Charlotte, and after she completed her pediatric dental residency, we decided to return to the Charlotte area in 2010 to start our family and for me to build the type of practice I dreamed of creating: a place for patients to feel comfortable and excited, and a practice that was a pillar to lift the community.

Stephanie and I have two children, Alaina and Roman, and an 18-year-old four-legged furry son named Bernie. We are very fortunate that our parents also reside in Charlotte. Away from work, I spend time with my family, exercise, watch movies, and travel.

I have a passion making people smile and helping others by being a role model for the youth in our community.

A part of the Jackson Orthodontics’ core philosophy is giving back to our community, especially the local schools. In all, the practice has partnered with 13 schools in scholarships, school plays, speeches at career days, and monetary gifts. I also started a male mentoring program at Southwest Middle School to help connect students with an adult who can guide them in the transition from elementary to middle to high school. I believe community support is the responsibility of all community leaders.

Education and Continuing Education
Undergraduate degree in exercise physiology – University of Florida
Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of North Carolina
Orthodontic residency – Saint Louis University’s Center for Advanced Dental Education
During my residency at Saint Louis University’s Center for Advanced Dental Education, I had the opportunity to learn a wide variety of techniques, from classic orthodontic techniques to new, cutting-edge technologies and treatments. After my residency, I associated in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for three years. I had the opportunity to treat great patients with difficult cases and create beautiful smiles.

Continuing education keeps me current with the latest treatment modalities so that I am continually reducing treatment time while maximizing treatment outcomes and achieving smiles our patients are proud of and can’t wait to share!

I attend the American Association of Orthodontists annual meeting, the Damon® Forum, and study club meetings with some of the best and most progressive minds in my profession, to exchange ideas about how to best treat our patients. I believe that completing continuing education on various new treatment methods allows me to deliver care to my patients that exceed their expectations. The continuing education that I attend is focused on improving my patients’ orthodontic experience, increasing our efficiency, and keeping up with advances in materials and technology so I can deliver the best care to my patients.
